How the Boruto Manga could end? A question asked by every fan. To carry and uphold the legacy of one of the Big Three is no small endeavor, let alone surpass it. This nigh-impossible feat is the expected end destination of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Although it carries its predecessor’s name in its title, living up to it is an entirely different story.
Unfortunately, so far the reception of both the Boruto anime and the manga has been quite poor, even among hardcore fans. Recently, both have gone into a hiatus, with a potential time skip on the horizon. Given that, let’s look at some Speculations on How the Boruto Manga could end.
Current State of the Story
The manga and the anime of Boruto have been traveling at different paces, with the anime having its own unique content called “Anime Canon”, which isn’t supposed to be considered as fillers. However, fans have noticed a clear difference in the quality of the arcs from the source material and the anime’s original arcs.
While neither is praiseworthy as of now outside of a few gorgeously animated fight sequences and hilarious and enticing character interactions, both media are travelling toward the same end goal with each arc. Most fans are expecting a time skip that would connect to the first scene of the story, depicting Boruto and Kawaki.
How Could The Plot Progress?
The most recent event in the manga surprised fans with an unforeseen plot twist. The lives of Boruto and Kawaki were swapped, due to Eida’s unexplained Omnipotence. This opens up some interesting avenues through which the plot can develop from here on out.
- Boruto’s Training:Â The most anticipated storyline among fans is Boruto’s training with Sasuke. While Boruto might be a complete Otsutsuki following his resurrection, he is still inexperienced and weak compared to his potential threats, and he has a lot to learn.
- Kawaki’s Psychological Shift:Â In the opening scenes of the manga and the anime, Kawaki states that “The age of shinobi is over.”, backdropped by a destroyed Konoha. It is possible that sometime after Boruto’s defection Kawaki might realize that the current shinobi system is flawed and might choose to change it by force.
- Code’s Revenge:Â Code bears a strong sense of loyalty towards Isshiki and considers himself the carrier of Otsutsuki’s will. Before Eida’s swap, Code considered Kawaki as the one who always stole everything from him, including all of Isshiki’s attention as a proper vessel.
Plausible Endings
Considering all that, we can try to speculate How the Boruto Manga could end with a few plausible pointers. Do let us know what you feel about them, and maybe we could cover these more extensively in our later articles.
- Death of the Former Legends:Â While both of them are still alive, it’s not a long shot to say that Sasuke and Naruto might die in the future. If we could envision a large-scale war happening, the death of the two greatest shinobi of all time would be a powerful way to end it.
- Poetic Tragedy:Â While both Sasuke and Naruto survived their battle at the final valley, in stark contrast to that we might witness a battle between Boruto and Kawaki where they both end up dying.
- Otsutsuki Invasion:Â There is a high chance that we might be visiting extra-terrestrial planets or dimensions more in the future of the anime. Consequentially, the current events might lead up to a full-scale attack from the Otsutsuki on the Shinobi world.
- Corrected Reality:Â In a much more simple and happier tone, Kawaki and Code might be defeated and Boruto might get his original life back. This could be the final destination of Boruto’s tale.
- Large-Scale Apocalypse: Given Kawaki’s mental state, his unpredictability, and volatility, it is safe to assume that his reactions to issues that he sees around him could be in anarchic fashion. if he deems the shinobi world unfit for existence, he might even team up with Code and his Army to destroy it.
- Eradication of Chakra:Â Another potential ending for the Boruto series could be a reality where Chakra and all ninjutsu is totally eradicated, leading to the creation of a normal powerless world. Given the array of abilities we’ve been seeing, it is well within the realm of possibilities to envision such a reality.
- Cohabitation:Â There is a chance that we don’t yet know about the true nature of Otsutsukis. There might be good Otsutsukis out there and those who want to help the shinobi world. It is not too much of a stretch to expect that there’ll be some kind of Cohabitation between humans and the Otsutsukis in the future of the series.
