Adult Swim announces new anime “Lazarus”: Everything that we know about it

Adult Swim has announced a new anime ‘Lazarus’ and the anime seems to have a team of experts on board. From the director of Cowboy Bebop to Studio MAPPA, the introduction of the crew will make the eyes of any anime fan light up. The director will be present at the San Diego Comic-Con to unveil important details about the anime. Till then here’s everything we know about Lazarus so far.

It’s 2052 and the world is free from chaos, sickness, and pain. Dr. Skinner has developed ‘Hapuna’ a drug with no side effects. Hapuna is the cure for everything. It has become easily available and essential to mankind. After the introduction of Hapuna to the world, Dr. Skinner disappears leaving no trace behind. 

He returns after three years as a changed man. He announces to the world that everyone who has taken Hapuna will die soon. To tackle this threat five agents from across the world are gathered to find Dr. Skinner. Will they be able to get a vaccine before Hapuna kills thousands of people or maybe millions?

Lazarus: Everything we know about it

The announcement of the sci-fi anime seems enough to get the fans hyped up. The crew has some renowned experts onboard:

• Shinichiro Watanabe, who has previously worked on Cowboy Bebop will be working on the new anime. 
• The action scenes director ‘Chad Stahelski’ is on board. He is famous for his works in the John Wick series.
• The studios at the helm of the animation production are none other than Stupid MAPPA and Sola Entertainment. 
• The musical front will be handled by the trio Kamasi Washington, Floating Points, and Bonobo. Floating Points and Bonobo are producers and musicians, Kamasi Washington is a renowned Saxophonist. The musical score for the anime will be a mix of jazz and electronic.

• Shinichiro Watanabe will be returning to his element from Cowboy Bebop with Lazarus it seems. The jazzy vibe with sprinkles of action will return to fans. He has demonstrated this combination remarkably in Cowboy Bebop. 
• He has also worked on Kids on the Slope which is a musical anime, Samurai Champloo, and Kid’s Story.
• Studio MAPPA has been on a roll with anime adaptations such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man.

The new anime will air on Toonami Block by Adult Swim. More information will be revealed by the man himself, Shinichiro Watanabe at the Same Diego Comic-Con on July 22nd.
