Anime Expo has been around for as long as anime has been. It has now become something that fans all around the globe look forward to. With such an explicable hype around it, people behind Anime Expo decided to start a mini version. They organized the first-ever Anime Expo Chibi last year, in 2022, at the Ontario Conventional Center.Â
A year has passed, and it’s time for Anime Expo Chibi to make its mark again. Here are all the details, you need to know before you venture into this wonderland of your favorite characters.
Activities at Anime Expo Chibi
The convention will begin on the 11th of November and last two days till the 12th. Ontario Conventional Center is holding the event this year as well. The event will include most AX Classic activities while giving way to some new activities under the Chibi Flag.
AX Classics:
- The Exhibit Hall: Attendees can browse many of their favorite anime merch showcased by industry partners like HYPLAND and Good Smile Company. There will be many artists who will have their art on display as well.
- The Manga Lounge: There will be a giant collection of titles for attendees to sit back and relax during the event.Â
- Lounge 21: It offers DJs, drinks, and many entertainment options for the older crowd
- Tabletop and Retro Gaming Room: It will include many vintage throwback consoles and beloved classics, allowing the attendees to stroll down the nostalgia lane.Â
- On the side, there will be spaces for attendees to enjoy classic anime karaoke. They will also experience some of their favorite series on the big screen.
Chibi Firsts:
- Chibi Night Market: This first-ever arena will allow attendees to jam out to their great performers while they tackle the refreshments.Â
- Dreamland Maid Cafe: The cafe will allow attendees to relax and relive an anime experience while their beloved performers serve them.Â
- Chibi Cosplay Runway: Attendees will experience their favorite characters coming to life through the cosplayers as they walk down the ramp walk. Â
- Cultural Workshops: Attendees will immerse themselves in the deep Japanese traditions, such as calligraphy, origami, etc.Â
Ticket Tier System- When are they releasing?
Ticket Registration will open on the 29th of August at noon PT. The tier system is a system that facilitates the concept of first come, first serve. People who will register during Tier 1 duration will get their tickets for a lesser amount than people during Tier 2. There are varying deals to choose from.
- 2-Day Weekend Wristband: This applies to attendees who are 14 years old or above. It allows access to the Exhibit Hall, Artist Alley, Workshops, and more for the entirety of the event. Tier 1 costs $50 and Tier 2 costs $60.
- Saturday Wristband: This applies to attendees who are 14 years old or above. It allows access to the Exhibit Hall, Artist Alley, Workshops, and more on the 11th of November. Tier 1 costs $35, and Tier 2 costs $40.
- Sunday Wristband: This applies to attendees 14 years old or above. It allows access to the Exhibit Hall, Artist Alley, Workshops, and more on the 12th of November. Tier 1 costs $25, and Tier 2 costs $35.
- 2-Day Child Wristband (6 to 13 years old): This applies to attendees between the age of 6 to 13 years old. It allows access to the Exhibit Hall, Artist Alley, Workshops, and more for the entirety of the event. All children under 13 must always be accompanied by an adult, with a valid GA wristband. It costs only $10.Â
- 2-Day Child Wristband (Under 5 years old): This applies to attendees below the age of 5. It allows access to the Exhibit Hall, Artist Alley, Workshops, and more for the entirety of the event. Their entry is free and will be provided directly at the entrance.
- Military Special: Verifying your military status online with SheerID will provide you with an access code, which can be redeemed for a 2-Day Weekend Wristband at a discounted price of $45. It is limited, and, only one access code will be granted per attendee.Â
Anime Expo Chibi will hold a wide variety of events catering to all members of the anime community, having screenings of fan-favorite anime series to an entire gaming arena for their leisure.
