Moreover, the bloody storyline of the game only allowed the anime to be as immersive in style as possible. Castlevania released its final season back in 2021, but Netflix recently made an announcement. This announcement pertains to Castlevania: Nocturne, a spinoff and an adaptation that is sure to create a new wave of anticipation for fans and gamers alike.

Castlevania: Nocturne doesn’t come with an official trailer. It is only an announcement in the form of a teaser which Netflix released and the anime might release anytime towards the end of 2023. While fans are eager to know a possible date of release, the anticipation has only resulted in commotion and uproar.

The wait is long and has been tiresome for many, while a possible adaptation with a different plot and timeline is also considered worth waiting for. There are four seasons of Castlevania on Netflix and the movie is also set to release on the same platform. Now, let us have a quick look that the plot of Castlevania: Nocturne before its release.

The video games Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will purportedly serve as the inspiration for Castlevania: Nocturne. Like the original Castlevania anime, the spinoff, Castlevania: Nocturne, would be based on the Konami games, that gained immense popularity on the Nintendo platform.

The series will introduce us to Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades, who takes on the family profession of being a vampire hunter, brandishing the infamous Vampire-Killer sword, during the French Revolution in 1792. Although, there has been no particular update on the plot of Castlevania: Nocture yet, we can still count that it would be similar to that of the original game.

Apart from Sophie Skelton, who plays Julia Belmont in Episode 1, not much is known about the cast up until now. It is yet to be known who Julia is. Her character might be newly developed for the show.

But we can suspect that she is going to share a deep connection with Richter. Richard Armitage and Alejandra Reynoso could be expected in the spinoff anime, Castlevania: Nocturne to reprise their roles as Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades. The only two confirmed characters in the next sequel, Richter Belmont and Maria Renard, have yet to have their voice actors revealed.

Kevin Kolde will serve as the showrunner for Castlevania: Nocturne. During the run of the initial Castlevania series, Kolde also worked as co-executive producer. Warren Ellis, the former writer, and showrunner of the original anime, will not be engaged; Clive Bradley will be in charge of creative and writing genius. Project 51 Productions will produce the series in collaboration with Powerhouse Animation.

The series could also revive the return of Theo James as Alucard considering the dhampir son of Dracula is an immortal. We could also witness Graham McTavish’s come back to play the charismatic ruler of shadows if Richter plays Dracula like his video game version.

Castlevania: Nocturne release date and would there be a Season 2?

Castlevania video games have incredibly extensive lore. To tell the story of just two games, the original show needed four seasons. Due to the popularity of the franchise and Netflix’s desire to keep the anime around for a longer period of time, a second season of Castlevania: Nocturne is unquestionably on the horizon if the first season’s performance is captivating on Netflix.

We are hopeful and expecting that Castlevania: Nocturne would be released on Netflix before the end of 2023. Although there has been no announcement of an official release date yet, it is safe to assume that it will take some time before reaching the viewers on Netflix. The anime viewers are now ready to be swooped by the amazing graphics and its plot as Castlevania: Nocturne is nearing its release.
