The teaser trailer of the Delicious in Dungeon anime came out along with the key visuals. The anime was announced in August 2022, it’s getting adapted from the Manga Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui. Studio Trigger is handling the animation production for the anime series.
The first look seems oddly similar to the anime Campfire Cooking in another world with my absurd skill which aired from January to March this year (2023). The anime was a project of studio MAPPA and fans are looking forward to the announcement of season 2.

Delicious in Dungeon Anime – what is it about?
The story starts with Laios and his group who lose against a monster, they escape but one of the members Falin gets eaten by the monster. After this encounter with the monster, two members of the group leave the group leaving behind Laois and his other two companions. They try to come up with plans to rescue Falin before she gets digested.
However, they don’t have enough supplies to sustain themselves; to which Laios suggests eating up the monsters. Delicious in Dungeon is an adventure tale with monsters and food, and sometimes monsters as food. The teaser features Laios the main character, his companions, and food. But not normal food, monsters cut up and cooked.
Just imagining monsters as food should make you gag, out of disgust but that doesn’t happen with Delicious in Dungeon because the food looks good.
Similarities between Delicious in Dungeon and Campfire Cooking in Another World
- Both Delicious in Dungeon and Campfire Cooking in another world are cooking-based fantasy anime. While Campfire Cooking is an Isekai and the former is not. An anime being Isekai, or not makes a whole lot of difference. The overpowering element and getting accustomed to a new world are some elements unique to the Isekai genre.

- The protagonist won’t be as overpowered as campfire cooking in another world, he’s not the strongest character in the series which makes the series more interesting. Seeing the protagonist struggle can make anime more fun for some people. It gives a better understanding of the development he undergoes.

Conclusion
The similarities are not traced down to the T, but Delicious in Dungeon anime and Campfire Cooking in another world are similar. The audience of one will like the other or have at least some sort of opinion on the other. How similar are they; this is something that can only get answered by taking a look at both the anime. The anime is coming out in January 2024.
