  • In episode 8 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, we learn about Tenza’s difficult past and his relationship with Shion. As a teenager, Tenza faced neglect and mistreatment from everyone around him. He survived by stealing and even killing. However, his life changed when he met Nurugai and they formed a bond.

While discussing their escape plans, they encounter Tensen, a powerful monster who attacks them. Tenza fights back, but Tensen’s eyes regenerate after being slit. Tenza realizes they need to run and is saved by Shion, his blind sensei, who appears and fends off Tensen. Shion joins Tenza and Nurugai as they continue running.

During their escape, Tenza introduces Shion to Nurugai, and Shion criticizes Tenza’s fighting technique and weak lungs. Shion explains that he was looking for a way off the island and sensed a strong presence. Tenza gets excited and suggests they work together to find a way off the island.
