How JJK 251 Spoilers Hint at Megumi’s Villain Arc

JJK 251 Spoilers recap and summary

Last week’s Jujutsu Kaisen chapter shook fans to their core as Yuta used Sukuna’s own Cleave technique against him. After being built up as an unstoppable force for so long, many viewers had started to wonder if Sukuna was actually the true protagonist of the series. But with this daring move, Yuta has rekindled hope for all of us.

  • Now, hot off the presses are the leaks for JJK Chapter 251. This explosive new chapter brings the return of Maki, who disappeared after the Shibuya Incident arc. But even more intriguing are signs that the popular fan theory about Megumi turning antagonist could prove accurate after all.

Ever since Gege Akutami foreshadowed Megumi’s dark potential, theorists have speculated he could go rogue in a future arc. And these new spoilers contain some subtle hints that Megumi may be ready to break bad.

So strap in, JJK fans. Between a powered-up Yuta, Maki’s homecoming, and Megumi’s looming heel turn, Chapter 251 looks set to take the series in a bold new direction.

The chapter opens with a dramatic reveal – Yuta copied Sukuna’s Cleave technique using the last remaining cursed finger! Now wielding this devastating power, Yuta joins Yuji in close quarters combat against Sukuna. Driven by pure determination to save Megumi, Yuji goes all out, even spitting his own blood in Sukuna’s face as an attack.

  • Yuji declares this is their last chance to defeat Sukuna and free Megumi from his control. As Rika grapples Sukuna, Yuji lands a powerful kick, noticing Sukuna’s cursed energy output and hold on Megumi’s body have weakened.

Sukuna attempts a comeback by disabling Hollow Wicker Basket in preparation for his World Cutting Slash. But Yuji and Yuta predicted this counterattack. They restrain Sukuna’s arms while bombarding him with additional hits.

  • A flashback shows Yuji referencing Yuki’s notes – souls can combine temporarily but never fully unify.
  • This fuels Yuji’s resolve to awaken Megumi’s soul. Hana confirms her Angel technique is the perfect match for their plan to separate Megumi and Sukuna while weakening Sukuna’s control.

  • With Rika and Yuji restraining his arms, Yuta unleashes Angel’s Maximum Output: Jacob’s Ladder on Sukuna. Yuji follows up with his secret Blood Manipulation soul attack, pleading for Megumi to “Wake up!”

  • But despite their careful calculations, Megumi’s will to live has vanished. His soul keeps repeating, “I’ve had enough.”

A battered Sukuna attempts World Cutting Slash. But Maki suddenly appears, piercing Sukuna through the chest with her Soul Splitter katana!

The narrator criticizes Sukuna for falling for such a basic surprise attack. But can Maki’s long-awaited return and Yuji’s soul gambit finally defeat the King of Curses?

Could Megumi be the next JJK villain?

For a while now, fans have been drawing eerie parallels between Megumi and everyone’s favorite sorcerer-turned-villain, Geto. As the respective closest friends of Yuji and Gojo, Geto and Megumi occupy similar roles.

Geto’s descent into darkness came when he lost the people he wanted to protect the most. Riko and Haibara’s death chipped away at his soul until he couldn’t find it himself to continue.

  • Megumi now finds himself in a tragically similar position. From the get-go, Megumi made it abundantly clear that he was only in this for the sake of his sister. But not only did he lose his dear sister Tsumiki, but she died at his own hands. That’s enough trauma to push anyone over the edge.

Sharing a body with Sukuna will only further corrode Megumi’s psyche. We saw the mental toll it took on Yuji, despite his unusually resilient soul.

  • And the spoilers for chapter 251 have all but confirmed that Megumi has been fully broken by recent events.

With his spirit shattered, his mind and soul damaged by Sukuna, Megumi is in an extremely worrying state. Having lost so much, he may abandon moral distinctions altogether, seeking only destruction and vengeance.

The pieces are perfectly lined up for Megumi to embrace the dark side. But could the kind-hearted, loyal sorcerer truly transform into Jujutsu Kaisen’s next big villain? The signs are there, but only time will tell if this tragic theory proves true.
