The chapter kicks off by announcing a major power-up for Todo, whose newly modified “Boogie Woogie” cursed technique allows him to swap targets at a mind-boggling rate of 50 times per second. This upgrade, coupled with Todo’s tactical brilliance, enables him and Yuji to launch a relentless onslaught against the seemingly unstoppable force that is Sukuna.

  • To further augment his technique, Todo has imposed a binding vow limiting the number of swaps proportional to the Vibraslap’s collisions. Through this, he’s expanded Boogie Woogie’s versatility, able to target multiple entities over a wider effective range.

Backed by Yuji’s relentless physicals attacks, Todo’s revamped Boogie Woogie creates a dizzying, unpredictable onslaught that leaves even Sukuna disoriented. Despite the Sukuna’s attempts to read Todo’s swap timing, he finds himself utterly befuddled and on the receiving end of Yuji’s Black Flash.

Just when it appears Sukuna is about to regain the upper hand by unleashing his Domain Expansion, a mysterious silhouette appears – one that Sukuna immediately recognizes as “the strongest ghost” he killed with his own hands.

  • The Editor’s comment says, “Those eyes are unmistakable.” Gojo’s cocky smirk and nonchalant “Yo. Long time no see,” send shockwaves through the fandom, reviving our love for Jujutsu Kaisen.

Is Gojo back or is Gege trolling?

The JJK manga has yet to provide definitive confirmation on whether the figure confronting Sukuna is actually the real Gojo Satoru or some sort of hallucination/illusion. We wouldn’t put it past Akutami to troll fans in such a dramatic fashion – the author has continuously subverted expectations and played with readers’ emotions over the years.

  • There’s a very real possibility that the “Gojo” we witnessed was not the sorcerer himself, but rather a hallucination or more symbolic representation concocted by Sukuna’s fractured psyche.
  • We have previously theorized that Yuji’s rapid growth could be the metaphorical answer to Gojo’s “revival” – manifesting the same overwhelming power that once belonged to his mentor.

It would certainly fit Akutami’s penchant for narrative trickery if the Gojo we saw was merely emblematic of Yuji finally rising to his master’s vaunted level.

With so many complexities surrounding Gojo’s potential resurrection (all the plot holes Gege would have to fix), it would arguably be simpler for Akutami to avoid that narrative minefield entirely.

Yet, despite the very real possibility of Akutami yanking our chains once more, a part of every JJK fan desperately wishes for Gojo’s miraculous return to be 100% legitimate. His death was a pivotal moment that irrevocably altered the trajectory of the series. Thankfully, the series will not go on break this week, so we only have a little while before we know for sure!
