The third season of Kimetsu no Yaiba concluded with an hour-long special episode, drawing curtains on the Swordsmith VIllage arc. In tandem with that, a special PV was released to announce the fourth season of the anime set to follow the events of the Hashira Training arc. Here’s everything we know about it so far.
The Hashira Training Arc
Chronologically, the Hashira Training Arc comes right after the Swordsmith Village Arc. It is the tenth story arc of Kimetsu no Yaiba and the penultimate arc of the series, succeeded by the series finale, the Final Battle arc. The arc covers events from Chapter 128 to Chapter 136 of the manga.
While we don’t have a release date yet, just the announcement was enough to get fans excited. The third season of the anime adapted twenty-nine chapters in about eleven episodes. Assuming that we could expect the same kind of pacing for this arc, the Hashira Training arc would have to be very short, given that it only lasts for about eight chapters in the manga.
Plot, Premise, and Characters
Following the ever-continuing rinse-and-repeat cycle of Kimetsu no Yaiba, the series enters into yet another training arc after a huge fight.
- This time, the series protagonist Kamado Tanjiro departs to train with the strongest of all Hashiras, The Stone Hashira – Gyomei Himejima.
- On one side, we have Tanjiro training with Gyomei, relentlessly trying to win his approval and on the other demon King Kibutsuji Muzan continues to try and locate Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.
- The arc showcases all the remaining Hashira, Tanjiro, and his crew, and Muzan along with the rest of the remaining Moons.
It is possible that the fourth season might follow what the second season did with the Mugen Train arc and the Entertainment District arc, in essence releasing it in two parts. In this case, the anime might wrap up the Hashira Training arc quickly and move on to the Infinity Castle Arc.
The Beginning of the End
Although the Hashira Training arc is very short, fans would get to see both the Hashiras and the Demons prepare for the final showdown. Tanjiro strives to get stronger to be able to match the level of Hashiras and Muzan is extremely displeased and reckless given that an upper moon has been killed for the first time in a hundred years.
The Hashira Training arc is an important milestone in the story of Kimetsu no Yaiba. It is still unknown how much of the Infinity Castle arc we might get to see with the fourth season of Kimetsu no Yaiba. Given the very short length of the Hashira Training Arc, the ratio of chapters to anime episodes doesn’t seem to be enough for even a single cour, a twelve-episode season.
Conclusion
There is still a lot of information to know about the fourth season of Kimetsu no Yaiba. The animation obviously would be outstanding thanks to Ufotable.
However, the arc’s length, plot, and premise are quite uncertain given that the Hashira Training arc doesn’t have enough content to last an entire season. Fans can expect to savor a little bit of the series finale if the anime decides to cover a portion of the Infinity Castle Arc.
