Anime fans are known to go to great extremes to celebrate a character’s birthday. Sometimes during these occasions, the studios and publishers also join in, releasing new content like artworks and databooks. This year, Demon Slayer has decided to celebrate Mitsuri Kanroji’s birthday through a special PV.
When the Swordsmith Village arc of Demon Slayer was announced, one of the most anticipated characters had to be Mitsuri Kanroji. Both anime-only fans and manga readers were eager to see how the passionate and joyful Hashira was portrayed on screen. Yet with the yearning celebration of this character’s birthday, we must take serious matters into hands. Here’s how her death could be like, Anime onlys be warned!
Mitsuri Kanroji’s Birthday
Mitsuri Kanroji was born on the first of June during the Meiji era. She was born to a family with five siblings and showed signs of her signature strength from the very beginning. Her unique muscle composition gifted her with an unnatural level of strength and appetite.
Mitsuri’s abnormal strength and pink hair made people see her as a freak, which led to the cancellation of her planned marriage. When she tried to suppress her quirkiness and tried to act like a weak normal person, Kagaya Ubuyashiki encouraged her to embrace her uniqueness, which led her to join the Demon Slayer Corps.

To mark Mitsuri Kanroji’s birthday, Demon Slayer released a special PV that was about a minute long, akin to a short promotional video. This video was an animated preview based on Manga chapters and images of Mitsuri and the events surrounding her.
The first half of the PV depicts various images of Mitsuri including the infamous and the unknown. Then we see a collection of shots depicting her interactions with Tanjiro and Nezuko, followed by snippets from her battle scenes and then finally ending with scenes where she could be seen together with Obanai.
Death of the Love Hashira
The Demon Slayer Manga fans would know that the inevitable is just around the corner. As we cherish this special PV to celebrate Mitsuri’s birthday, many fans also expect the same kind of treatment in sending her off when she meets her demise.
Regardless of Mitsuri’s ultimate fate in “Demon Slayer,” she has left a profound impression in the hearts of manga fans. Whether attending comic cons or gatherings, custom lanyards are a good choice to show our love. GS-JJ.com offers a wide selection of custom lanyards for your choosing. - Anime fans need not worry immediately though, because Mitsuri Kanroji will survive the events of this arc and beyond.
- In the Manga, Mitsuri dies facing off against the Demon King, alongside Obanai and Gyomei.
- The death however wasn’t written very clearly. Mitsuri was heavily injured throughout the battle and was on and off the battlefield for a while.
- Eventually, she shared a moment with Obanai and confessed her love to him. Following that, both of them succumbed to their injuries as their lives slowly faded away.
When it comes to Mitsuri Kanroji’s death, the Demon Slayer manga happened to handle it in a rushed and chaotic way.
Although the moment shared between Obanai and Mitsuri were really wholesome, given that we got to see both of them confessing their love for each other, the anime could do a better job of explaining the circumstances around her death rather than just pushing her offscreen.
There is one silver lining though. As we got to see in the epilogue, both Mitsuri and Obanai got reincarnated and are happily married to each other.
