Will My Hero Academia Season 7 be the final Anime season?

My Hero Academia season 7

My Hero Academia anime took a great stride in terms of quality with season 6. This makes the upcoming season all the more anticipated. With the resolution of major conflicts, everything has boiled down to the final fights. A two cour season can be more than enough for all the fights, so is My Hero Academia Season 7 going to be the final anime season? A simple answer to this would be no, as the manga hasn’t concluded yet.

Considering how season 7 is scheduled to air during Spring 2024, there’s a possibility that the manga might end. Even then, season 7 won’t be enough to wind up the story of My Hero Academia. Here’s a detailed explanation of why that is the case.

Can My Hero Academia Season 7 wrap up the story?

My Hero Academia manga is still ongoing, it’s highly unlikely that it’ll end before My Hero Academia Season 7 airs in May. It’ll take at least 20 more chapters to wrap up the events of the manga. The only way My Hero Academia Season 7 can be the final season is if the season is distributed in multiple discontinued cours.

Even then, with adapting around 100 chapters in the usual 24-episode format comes the risk of flawed pacing. A minimum of 26-30 episodes will be required to sum up the entire series.

There has been no confirmation regarding a split-cour season up till now and Season 7 hasn’t been advertised as the final season either, which is usually common when an anime is nearing its end.

The ideal approach for season 7 depends upon the number of episodes. Up until now, the anime has adapted up to the Dark Hero Arc which ends in Chapter 328. The anime will probably adapt the two small arcs along with the beginning of the final war. This will leave enough chapters for a subsequent season which will speculatively be the final season of My Hero Academia anime.
