One Piece Chapter 1083’s early spoilers are out. Oda has been going in full throttle ever since he began the final saga of One Piece. Many fans have already started claiming that the ongoing Egghead Island Arc could become the best arc in all of One Piece, and those opinions aren’t baseless either.
After a long and stretchy arc like Wano, we’re finally getting to the meat of One Piece’s story in this fast-paced arc, which itself is a treat for some fans. The past few chapters have been filled to the brim with exciting reveals, pieces of lore, and unexpected actions from certain prominent characters.
One such event was the alleged assassination of King Cobra by Sabo, the truth about which has now come to light in the recent One Piece Chapter 1083.
The Three Goals Of The Revolutionary Army
The chapter kicks off with the most important figures of the Revolutionary Army – Monkey D. Dragon, Sabo, and Emporio Ivankov engaged in a discussion about the events that transpired during the Revolutionary Army’s assault on Mary Geoise. Sabo proceeds to inform that all three primary goals of the Revolutionary Army were satisfied during the assault. These three goals were:
- To declare war against the World Government and the Celestial Dragons by destroying the symbol of the Celestial Dragons.
- To Rescue Bartholomew Kuma and as many slaves as possible, who were enslaved by the Celestial Dragons.
- To find and destroy the food reserves of the Holy Land, Mary Geoise.
The Flames Of Rebellion

While Sabo was occupied with the assault on Mary Geoise, we find out that Dragon had launched uprisings in 12 nations with a strong influence of the Revolutionary Army. Dragon comments that eight of those were successful, but Ivankov interrupts it by saying that one of them, Lulusia Kingdom, had vanished.
This connects back to what happened a few chapters ago when Imu-sama seemingly erased an entire island from elsewhere. Consequentially, the World Government now has no other way but to pay attention to the Revolutionary Army’s actions. So far, the Army’s plan for revolution has been successful evidenced by Ivankov’s Excitement. Finally, Sabo proceeds to tell the truth behind King Cobra’s assassination.
The Day Of The Assault
The Revolutionary Army’s assault on Mary Geoise was spearheaded by four of the most prominent leaders within the army:
- Northern Captain Of The Revolutionary Army: Karasu
- Western Captain Of The Revolutionary Army: Morely
- Southern Captain Of The Revolutionary Army: Lindbergh
- Chief Of Staff Of The Revolutionary Army: Sabo
The primary force against the army was Admirals Fujitora and Ryokugyu. While the three captains were focused on combat and offence, Sabo was trying to free the slaves and Kuma. But the real kicker comes at the end of the chapter where we see Vivi getting into an argument with Rob Lucci, as he tries to ‘protect’ her, much to her dismay.
We see King Nefertari Cobra, preparing to attend a meeting with the Gorosei.
Conclusion
This chapter has opened up so many possibilities for the future of One Piece. Fans always knew that Sabo wouldn’t have killed Cobra, but this chapter has managed to put any lingering doubts to rest.
Even though we still clearly don’t know the full picture, it can be inferred that King Cobra might be alive after all, since Sabo says ‘I think I can live with the way it all played out if it helps fuel the flames of rebellion.’. Sabo is not the type to disregard human life for the ‘Greater Good’. (Also, Oda is notorious for bringing back dead characters.)
In the end, this chapter once again leaves us with more questions than answers. The most interesting theory among fans now is related to Dragon’s mention of a group called ‘God’s Knights’, who work for the government.
One of them has a silhouette that just so happens to look like Red-haired Shanks. Regardless, the future of One Piece’s story looks very promising.
