Oshi no Ko Live Action Cast
Kanna Hashimoto as Ai Hoshino: Radiant beauty meets ethereal charm. She was the lead idol of the original B-Komachi and the mother of Aqua and Ruby. Hashimoto’s previous experience in the anime adaptation of Gintama will help the transition for this role too. Kanna’s and Ai’s angelic aura are a match made in idol heaven.
Fumiya Takahashi as Aqua: Brooding mystery with a hint of sunshine is the perfect combination for Aqua’s character. Aqua is described as someone with emotional distance; he is shocked when he hears from Kana that he is ”gloomy”, but despite this, he does genuinely care about the people close to him. Aqua is overly protective of Ruby, his younger twin sister. Takahashi’s smoldering stares (“Kamen Rider Zi-O”) and vulnerable depths (“I Will be Your Bloom”) nail Aqua’s complex charm.
Hiyori Sakurada as Ruby: Fiery loyalty with a hidden softie, Hiyori is the perfect person to play Ruby. Unlike Aqua, who is calm, calculated, and discreet, Ruby is the polar opposite of him, as she is extroverted, outgoing, loud, optimistic, and communicative compared to her brooding brother. She is most apparent in the connections she makes with others. Sakurada’s fierce spirit (“Our Secret Diary”) and nuanced performances (“Rent-a-Girlfriend”) bring Ruby’s passionate heart to life.
Mana Ashida as Kana Arima: Sunshine personified with a sassy secret, Mana is Kana’s twin in real life. Initially introduced as a cocky child actress with a sharp tongue, Kana was moved to tears after witnessing Aqua Hoshino’s performance. However, since then, she has matured and grown into a much kinder person. Ashida’s bubbly charm (“Marumo no Okite”) and Kana’s infectious cheer make her the scene-stealing best friend we all adore.
Kaya Kiyohara as Akane Kurokawa: Kaya personifies Akane perfectly, hiding wounds with icy grace. When people started criticizing her and sending her death threats, she became all the more reclusive and was even on the verge of committing suicide. After deciding to return to the show, Aqua Hoshino suggested that she play a character to protect herself from any backlash from potential future incidents. As a result, she took up Ai Hoshino’s personality after hearing that she was Aqua’s ideal woman to thank him for saving her life and reputation. Kiyohara’s elegant portrayal (“Medium”) and Akane’s captivating professionalism create a chillingly realistic rival.
