More than a decade later, Spice and Wolf is returning to fans with a remake anime. It is the story of Lawrence, the merchant accompanied by the wolf deity Holo embarking on adventures together.

With how great the original Spice and Wolf anime is, the remake needs to be significantly good to amuse the pre-existing fans. The creators have taken the first right step towards doing that by bringing back Jun Fukuyama and Ami Koshimizu as Lawrence and Holo.

Kaijuu No. 8 will be here this spring for our yearly shonen dose. Childhood friends Kafka and Mina swear to be a part of the Defense Force and fight off Kaijuu once they grow up. Multiple failed attempts to become a part of the Defense Force dampens Kafka’s spirit, only for it to be reignited after his encounter with Reno Ichikawa. A small Kaijuu enters Kafka’s body and grants him the ability to transform into a kaijuu at will. With a new ability and codename, several challenges also come his way. 

Shonen fans who have grown over the years and no longer feel a connection to the young protagonists, Kaijuu no. 8 has an adult protagonist who is also pretty cool. 

7. Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture

As a part of the ten-year plan, Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture was announced. It’s allegedly a 4 parts long movie series, set in a different timeline than the original anime series. The promotional bits feature two new characters, Roze and Ash.

In terms of fights and the mecha action, the teasers are strongly reminiscent of Code Geass. But is Code Geass the same experience without Lelouch? We’ll find out once again this May! 

6. Mushoku Tensei II: Part 2
