The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is one filled with bizarre curses and their crazy, diabolical shenanigans everywhere you look. In such literally accursed world, more often than not the ‘Good Guys’ have to go above and beyond their own limits to counter such forces, subjecting themselves to great levels of rage and anger. Here are the Top 3 Rage moments in Jujutsu Kaisen.
3. Nobara’s Game of Chicken
Throughout most of the first season, we see Kugisaki Nobara as a hotheaded Jujutsu Sorceress with a simple yet gimmicky ability, in essence, her Resonance. However, during the events of the Death Painting arc, fans got to see a far more sinister and diabolical side of Nobara that she often keeps under wraps, amidst the heat of the battle.
- While Megumi was focusing on exorcising the Curse from within, Nobara and Yuuji were stuck dealing with the curses Eso & Kechizu outside. Eso was confident that this match-up would be an easy win for him, thanks to his Decay ability.
- Nobara swiftly proceeds to prove him wrong by stabbing her infected arm with her nails, deploying her Resonance on the brothers. With a burst of hysterical laughter she announces that if she were to go down, she’ll be taking both of them down with her.
2. Yuta Okkotsu vs Geto Sugru
Initially, Yuto comes off as a shy and timid individual with quite an antisocial disposition. However, beneath all that he encased a sinister Curse much to the surprise of even the Senior students of Jujutsu High, provoking them to take up a combat stance the moment he entered their classroom for the first time.
Over the course of the movie, we get to see Yuta’s kindhearted side as he grows more social and amiable with his classmates. However, towards the end of the movie, Yuta finally snaps and shows his true inner demon in his fight against Geto Suguru. He decides to fully submit to Rika, empowering her with a kiss in an attempt to exceed the limits of his cursed energy by sacrificing himself.
1. Megumi’s Incomplete Domain Expansion
Even though he is one of the most enigmatic characters in the series, Fushiguro Megumi stayed away from the spotlight for most of the series, at least in terms of major fights. Initially, it might’ve looked like the author just decided to sideline him in favor of Yuuji. But in reality, this detail comes back and gets addressed as a plot point at the end of the series.
During his fight with the Bridge curse, followed by the Finger Bearer, Megumi recollects Gojo’s words about how Dying to win is completely different from risking death to win. Megumi then proceeds to discard all doubts about his Sorcery and his need for perfection, instead opting to envision a stronger version of himself by shattering his restraints. With a crazy expression on his face, Megumi unleashes his incomplete Domain Expansion: Chimera Shadow Garden.
Conclusion
In the gritty and dark world of Jujutus Kaisen, it is quite natural and justified for these characters to break and get overwhelmed with rage while facing off against various Curses. Given that the second season of the anime is just around the corner, we might be able to see more of such scenarios as the series progresses.
