5. The Perfect Crime

This ability allow Mushitaro Oguri to create exactly what the name suggests, a Perfect Crime scene. The ability of Lucy Maud Montgomery is a spatial ability that allows her to transport herself and other people to her pocket dimension, which looks like a young girl’s playroom.

This dimension is guarded by a doll called Anne, which often acts as the guard for Lucy’s prisoners. In order to activate her ability, Lucy has to get into close proximity to her targets, but there are no sorts of other limitations. The entrapped can only leave when Lucy deactivates the ability.

3. Thou Shalt Not Die

Akiko Yosano’s ability allows her to heal anyone back to absolute peak condition, essentially rendering them immortal if she’s around.

However, this ability comes with a huge caveat. Thou Shalt Not Die can only be used on someone who’s at death’s doorstep. Even to heal simple injuries, Yosano would’ve to inflict greater injuries to leave her patients half-dead before treating them.

2. No Longer Human

One of the reasons why Osamu Dazai plays a pivotal role in Bungou Stray Dogs is his ability, No Longer Human. This ability allows Dazai to nullify any ability in existence without exceptions.

This makes him one of the most dangerous foes any gifted could face, especially if they’re unaware of No Longer Human. However, Dazai’s ability needs physical, skin-to-skin contact to work, but is always active.

1. Upon The Tainted Sorrow

Upon the Tainted Sorrow is by far the most dangerous ability in Bungous Stray Dogs with the capacity to cause a massive, destructive cataclysm across a large area, annihilating anything within. It essentially allows Chuuya Nakahara to control gravity however he sees fit.

From tossing objects to lifting the ground around him this ability is extremely versatile. When he goes into his Corruption state he can literally create Black Holes, but since this state is uncontrollable, it’d eventually kill him. The only way for Chuya to survive is for Dazai to disable his Ability.

Bungou Strays Dogs happens to be one of the few series that didn’t spiral down into a mess with overpowered characters and Deus Ex Machina moments even though its abilities are so bizarre. The fact that these abilities are often utilized or revealed in perfect tandem with the storyline makes it one of the most interesting animes out there.
