No weeb is immune to the charm of the Opening theme and the ending theme of anime. They hit so well and make the anime-watching experience more rich and full. If you skip the openings and the endings without giving them a fair chance, you might as well be a sinner. Sometimes the Ending theme goes unappreciated as they come at the end of the episode when you’re in a hurry to watch what’s up next, but not anymore. Here’s a list of the
Top 5 Anime where the ED is better than the OP
5. The Great Pretender
If you’re not already familiar with this ending song, then you should know that this is sung by Freddie Mercury. The Netflix series features the song by Freddie Mercury as its ending theme. No one is a stranger to his musical talent, and the ending is another testament to it. The Japanese and Western combination always works for the OPs and EDs and this case was no different.
4. Kakushigoto
The opening song ‘Chiisana Hibi’ by Flumpool is really good but the ending song of the anime Kakushigoto, Kimi wa Tennenshoku, sung by Eiichi Otaki is even better. The ending song sounds very Christmas like and as soon as you hear it you’ll be filled with happy and cheerful memories. It still has a sad, nostalgic undertone to it.
The ending was originally released in 1981 and was part of an award-winning album. It has been used twice by Hibike! Euphonium and Kakushigoto. A special music video was also released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the song.
3. Attack on Titan
All the other EDs on this list are more qualified to be here because of their soundtrack whereas with this one, the video has a huge role to play. The ED is Yuugure no Tori by Shinsei Kamattechan. The visuals in the ED told the entire history of Ymir and the concept of rumbling which was later shown in season 4 of the anime. The art style used is apt for the historical story that it is trying to cover.
The soundtrack gives the visuals almost an eerie company. They go together well and the OP fails in comparison to what a genius of an ED this is.
2. Rascal does not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai
You might recognize this ED by its name but you must’ve come across it on reels. But which one have you come across? This song has different versions sung by the voice actors of the girls in the anime – Asami Seto, Atsumi Tanezaki, Inori Minase, Maaya Uchida, Nao Toyama, and Yurika Kubo.
All these versions are supposed to make you feel something different and depict something different. There is also a version with all of them on it, with all the voices combined.
1. Call of the Night
WHAT A BANGER! The perfect song to rock your head to or maybe dance to. The ED is called Yoshifuka no Uta by Creepy Nuts. The anime and the ED happen to have the same name. Coincidence? I think not. The manga is written and illustrated by Kotoyama who got the idea of the manga after listening to the song. Just like us, he also loves the ED.
