Top 5 convicts who seemed unbeatable at first but were beaten in Baki

Baki is known for its towering character designs and absolutely non-sensical power scaling. One of the best examples of this is the “Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga” which is easily one of the most one-sided arcs in the series history, but let’s elaborate on that shall we?

Top 5 convicts who seemed unbeatable at first but were beaten in Baki

1. Kaioh Dorian

The only convict in the arc that actually had a presence, Dorian was a monster in his own right. He is known as the “Crimson Whale” in the martial arts world, he is also a former death row inmate and one of the most wanted convicts in the world.

  • Dorian was a genius military general and after his deployment he explored the world until he landed in China and studied under the martial art of “Chinese Kenpo” which he honed almost immediately and became the sole undefeated master of it, quickly becoming the first foreigner to earn the title of “Kaioh” (Sea King).
  • But alas, even though he handled himself pretty well against even the likes of Doppo Orochi, Dorian was taken care of pretty swiftly by Orochi himself in their rematch.

2. Hector Doyle

A deadly assassin with a knack for cross-dressing, Hector Doyle is a fighter who survived the electric chair and even somehow damage the unchained Biscuit Oliva himself. Doyle was a former British Armed Forces soldier, and he specializes in “dirty combat“, in which he uses any sort of unfair advantage he can find to win a fight such as rigging his clothes with razor blades or poisonous syringes, or even augmenting his own body with steel implants that work as an extra set of blades that he can use to chop up his opponents.

But even with his impressive catalogue of advantages, Doyle was swiftly taken care of in his crusade by Retsu Kaioh, which left him permanently blind.

3. Sikorsky

Sikorsky, also known as the “Ruthless Killer” is a former member of the Russian Spetsnaz Special Forces. With an extensive military background, Sikorsky has been proven to be dangerous on his skills alone as he is fully disciplined in multiple martial arts that he incorporates with his amazing agility for a fighter in his weight class and his sheer brutality.

But while Sikorsky revels in pulverizing his opponents and does not shy from any challenge (which was proven by his excitement to fight Unchained and The Ogre simultaneously), he has never won any major fight and has in fact been humiliated by Baki on multiple occasions.

4. Spec

  • Easily the most iconic fighter on this list, Spec is easily the most psychotic fighter in series history. Similar to Doyle, Spec has no qualms about using dirty tactics to win a match.
  • But unlike Doyle, Spec does not even consider the principle of honour and will do anything to initiate a fight or win it. Regardless of his lack of honour, Spec is still a really skilled fighter in many styles of martial arts and is most proud of his skills in “Karate“.

He is able to stalemate the likes of Haneyama and even keep up with Baki, but even with his use of dirty tactics such as shoving explosive bullets inside Haneyama’s mouth, The Teen Giant absolutely crushed Spec with a single well times blow.

5. Ryuukou Yanagi

The most proud and honorable fighter in this list, Yanagi unlike what his small stature dictates, is the deadliest fighter of all the convicts. Born under a long lineage of martial artists, Yanagi has been groomed to be the best in the style of “Nihon Kempo” since childhood under the tutelage of his father. With analytical skills second to none, his attacks are focused on targeting the weak structures of an opponent’s body with swift whip-like movements.

But even with all his skills, Yanagi also was soon taken care of by Baki even when he was tag teaming alongside Sikorsky.

Conclusion

While “Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga” was mostly consisting of one-sided fights and disappointing character takedowns, it is still to be noted that compared to the larger Baki verse, the convicts still are some of the best fighters in the world. So, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and just say that they faired pretty well, considering they were chasing after the son of the strongest creature alive, which is not really recommended in any situation but alas Baki is known for these very situations.
