Jujutsu Kaisen:Top 5 sorcerers in the Culling Game

The “Jujutsu Kaisen” Culling Game arc, a competition organized by the higher-ups, features a battle-style competition that pits powerful sorcerers against each other. The sorcerers are forced to fight off powerful curses and fend themselves against treacherous traps and hidden rules. The winner receives the reward of a powerful wish granted by Jogo but the loser faces dire consequences, including death.

Sorcerers from all the factions, including Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School, Kyoto Metropolitan Magic Technical School, and a few other lone sorcerers, participate in the Culling Game. Each sorcerer brings their unique abilities, techniques, and strategies to the competition, resulting in intense confrontations and unexpected alliances.

Here are five sorcerers who stood out and claimed their place in the top 5 of the game:

5. Mei Mei

  • Mei Mei is a part of the Zenin Clan and represents the family in the game. She has exceptional combat abilities and utilizes her cursed technique known as the Straw Doll Technique to create straw dolls that she uses to control and manipulate her opponents’ movements.
  • This gives her the power of taking their means of freedom and turns them into her puppets. She is quick on her feet and plans each and every move, making her a formidable opponent in the Culling Game.

Being from the Zenin Clan, her presence in the Culling Game brings a level of mystery and intrigue as her true intentions and loyalties are put to the test and her character begins to unravel as the story goes further.

4. Panda

  • You thought pandas were cute, lazy, and adorable creatures? Well, not this one. Despite his appearance as a human-like panda, Panda is a  sorcerer worthy of the title.
  •  He possesses a cursed technique known as the Panda Technique, which grants him enhanced strength, speed, and swiftness. He can channel three different modes: Gorilla Mode, Rabbit Mode, and Panda Mode, and each of them comes with its own set of powers.

He is not inherently calculative and goes on to form a close bond with the other characters and becomes a reliable ally. Dedicated and loyal to his allies, he contributes to their strategies and provides support whenever needed during the battles.

3. Maki Zenin

Initially marginalized and considered weak by her family because of possessing weak cursed energy, Maki goes on to play a significant role in this arc. Despite facing discrimination and mockery, she stays determined to prove her worth and demonstrate her strength. While people cursed her out in the daylight, she worked in silence in the shadows to end up being as and if not more skilled than her peers.

In the Culling Game she uses her signature weapon, the Striker, to display incredible physical prowess and swordsmanship. She is also adept at using various jujutsu techniques to overcome her opponents. In Chapter 191, a giant worm appears in front of Maki, and she senses something was amiss. She is right as the cursed spirit turned out to be Naoya Zenin holding a grudge long after he was killed following his fight with Maki. Maki doesn’t back out of the fight easily and throws everything she has at him.

2. Yuta Okkotsu

A first-year student at the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, Yuta possesses immense cursed energy and harbors a dangerous curse within him. Throughout the battles, he struggles to control his powers and through the challenges.

In chapter 173, at the beginning of the Sendai Colony arc, Yuta breaks the three-way deadlock by killing Dhruv Lakdawala. Soon after, he met with the cursed spirit Kurourushi, whom he spent a huge chunk of his energy to defeat.

Ishigori and Uro witnessed this fight and attempted to defeat Yuta while he was still worn down from his last battle. Yuta is not to be trifled with as he maneuvers the  Reverse Cursed Technique, which allowed him to keep fighting at full strength against both. This led to an all-out brawl, which ended with both Ishigori and Uro being defeated at Yuta’s hands.

1. Yuji Itadori

The protagonist of the series, Yuji is a first-year at the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, under the guidance of Satoru Gojo and a host for Sukuna, a powerful curse, and a legendary sorcerer as we see in the first season.

When he enters the Game, he is immediately intercepted by the hunters Hanyu and Haba. Hanyu catches him unaware and hits him with such power that he launches through two buildings, but that doesn’t faze Yuji and he lands on his feet unscathed. Hanyu calls for Haba and Yuji uses this split second to attack her. This ensues in a long and hard battle as both the sides grapple to find each others weaknesses.
