Even non-anime watchers were tempted to watch content similar to Attack on Titan, just to find out what the hype is all about. “Claymore” is a dark fantasy series set in a medieval-like world plagued by Yoma, shape-shifting monsters that terrorize humanity.

Claymores are half-human, half-Yoma warriors created by infusing Yoma flesh and blood into humans, and were created to counter the Yoma threat. The story primarily follows Clare, a stoic and skilled Claymore, and Raki, a man who was banished from his home after his entire family perished at the hands of the Yoma.

Seraph of the End

In 2012, a mysterious virus called the “Catastrophe” wipes out most of the world’s population, leaving only children under the age of 13 alive. Alongside this cataclysm, vampires rise from their hidden underground society and subjugate the remaining humans, using them as a constant blood supply.

Yuichiro Hyakuya, along with his friends and orphans, is taken captive by the vampires and forced to live in the vampire city, Sanguinem. After a failed escape attempt, Yuichiro is taken in by the Moon Demon Company, an extermination unit within the Japanese Imperial Demon Army (JIDA) that aims to eliminate vampires and regain humanity’s freedom.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is set in an alternate version of Japan during the industrial revolution.

The story is set in The Republic of San Magnolia, a pseudo-Utopia where a discriminated group of people termed ’86’ aren’t considered as alive humans. They are forced to pilot drones for war while the people within the empire enjoyed a false portrayal of a peaceful war with zero casualties.
