But the most interesting question lingering in everyone’s mind is this: Will Tanijiro become a Demon in Demon Slayer Season 5? Well, let’s find out.
SPOILER: The following contains major spoilers from Demon Slayer manga. So, read at your own risk.
Does Tanjiro become a Demon in Kimetsu no Yaiba?
In Chapter 201 of the manga, during the Sunrise Countdown arc, something very important happens. Tanjiro becomes a demon for the very first time, and the chapter starts with Muzan, who is the main bad guy, thinking back to when he was born and how he managed to survive.
- It is also shown that Muzan shares his blood with Tanjiro, and because of this, he turns Tanjiro into a demon too.
- The chapter mainly focuses on the ultimate battle, where Muzan makes a final attempt to become immortal by using Tanjiro. But Tanjiro has become very powerful and has overcome the usual weaknesses of demons as he has also mastered the most robust “Breathing” style.
How did he become a Demon?
In the last chapters, after a big fight between the Hashiras and the Demon Moons, Muzan is defeated by the remaining Demon Slayers and also because he’s exposed to sunlight, which kills him.
Tanjiro was really hurt after his tough fight with Muzan. His heart and breath had stopped, but he was still a little bit alive because not all of his cells had died. Muzan used this to turn Tanjiro back to life, but not as a human, instead, as the King of Demons!
Did Tanjiro turn back into a Human again?
- Even though Tanjiro seemed incredibly strong and almost invincible, he eventually returned to being a human after the fight. This happened because of a special drug created by Shinobu, Tamayo, and Yushiro. This drug had the power to change demons back into humans.
- The journey to make Tanjiro human again was tough. But the battle with Muzan had a heavy cost, as it led to the destruction of the entire Demon Slayer Corps, with many Hashiras losing their lives in the aftermath.
The last fighters from the Demon Slayer Corps were also having a hard time trying to stop Tanjiro. They could only manage it with the assistance of Nezuko, although even she was finding it tough to keep up with her brother.
