The plot advanced as Rintaro meets Wakuri as she visits his family cake shop and he was supposedly helping out. Moreover, Rintaro feels comfortable spending time with Kaoruko who seems to understand his nature and his life, and slowly they start growing close as they spend more time. However, both are cautious as they hang out with the private school’s girls and strongly share a common hate against the Chidori boys. This, therefore, becomes a story of two people who are defined both by a growing presence and an invisible distance.
Nijiro Days: a colourful story and a confused idea of love
Nijiiro Days follow the story of four high school boys, each of whom sees and experiments with love in different manners. In this story we have Natsuki Hashiba- a dreamer with all delusions of love; Tomoya Matsunaga- a narcissist and a playboy; Keiichi Katakura- a sadist who carries a whip to satisfy his kink; and finally Tsuyoshi Naoe- an otaku with a cosplaying girlfriend.
This is the story primarily about Natsuki who meets a girl on Christmas Eve after his girlfriend dumps him. This girl Anna attends the same school as him and he instantly falls in love with her.
Natsuki pursues Anna but his friends become his greatest obstacles and they constantly meddle in his relationship. This is the story of one love story being pursued and others being experimented on, while the one pursued is challenged and the ones experimented on are left conflicted.
Is Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity better than Nijiiro Days?
Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity might be quite similar to Nijiiro Days. The former has incorporated a different storyline but a similar form to the story. Both stories try to examine the role of foreign forces in interpersonal relationships and this becomes the central theme of both the stories.
However, Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity creates a slight deviation from Nijiiro Days. The manga shifts the primary object of focus from the group to a particular love story, while Nijiiro Days takes both forward parallels to each other.
