At the beginning of the chapter, we see Reo reading tweets on the internet. Many fans call out their recent plays and doubt Nagi’s abilities. Some of them also ask Chris to properly do his job and reform the team. A concerned Reo asks Nagi to talk for a moment:

  • He shares his concerns regarding their playing style and if they should change it. While they’re still in the safe zone for now, losing the next match will harm them severely.
  • Nagi responds to this by asking Reo to change and grow together. Several positive tweets are shown from a group of fans who still have faith in Nagi.

  • He further states how their rivals are advancing and the current him won’t be able to rise to the top. He asks Reo to give him a new motivation, a new fire.

This interaction between Reo and Nagi highlights that they truly have faith in each other. Despite all the lows they experienced recently, Nagi and Reo consider themselves as a single unit.

In the last chapter, Noel Noa appears for the strategy meeting. Fans were hoping to see what his plans are for the upcoming match, but it seems like Noa is satisfied with their current playing style. Opposed to suggesting changes, he reminds his team that the second position is recorded but not remembered.

To carve their name through history, Bastard Munchen needs to win their final match in the league. As Noel Noa exits the locker room, a special guest makes a return.

Ego’s guidance: Return of the Puppet Master

Ego Blue Lock

Ego enters the room calling Noa noisy. In his twisted way, he imparts some encouragement to the Bastard Munchen boys. Taking it back to how it all started, he forces them to realize their goals again. He asks them what it means to have an ego and what gives birth to originality. A part of your ego is rooted in who you want to be and what you are hungry for. The focus shifts to the players, who think about their next goal.

  • For Igaguri, he just wants to become one of the regulars.
  • Kunigami wants to defeat Isagi.
  • Isagi is aiming to be the number one player, which means he needs to defeat Rin.

Conclusion

Without Ego’s drive to lead Japan to a victory in the World Cup, Blue Lock wouldn’t have come to be. Every time he makes an appearance, we get reminded of how it all started. The upcoming chapter seems to be exactly that.
