When it comes to accolades, Jujutsu Kaisen has no shortage of them. At the same time, it was up against some of the most commercially and critically successful anime, here’s how it compares to them:

  • One piece: 2023 was a great year for One Piece fans, with the gear 5 animation and the live action. Although what probably put One Piece behind this time is the inconsistency when it comes to the animation and the pacing. The disparity between the good episodes and the normal ones is pretty surprising. So when the anime of both Jujutsu Kaisen and One Piece are compared, the former easily takes the cake for being the better.

  • Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: For the entire season it was airing Frieren was at the top of all charts. It surpassed Fullmetal Alchemist to be the top anime on MyAnimeList and still maintains that position. The only thing that set Frieren behind in this race was probably its novelty. While the manga is fairly popular, Frieren was a new anime that aired in 2023. With the love Frieren is receiving, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it takes over the title the next time around.

  • Attack on Titan: The article posted alongside the Guinness World Record announcement mentions the narrow margin between Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen in this race. Attack on Titan might have maintained its position as the most in-demand animated show but there was only one episode that aired. On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen aired weekly for more than three months.

With that, Jujutsu Kaisen has said Yowaimo to other anime with its Guinness World Record.
