Top 10 Most Fashionable Anime Characters

most fashionable anime characters

One of the defining visual factors of anime that sets it apart from other mediums of entertainment is the appearance of the characters with crazy-colorful hairstyles and outfits. Most characters have some signature outfits that have become a part of their personalities like Goku and Naruto. On the Shoujo front, it’s mostly school uniforms.

But some creators like to design different attires for their characters, sometimes making them look over the top in a good way (coughs in JoJo and Nana). At present, we have so many anime characters who have unique fashion statements that make them stand out. Let’s go on a hunt and look for the most fashionable of them all.

Top 10 Most Fashionable Anime Characters

10. Kitagawa Marin – My Dress-Up Darling

Putting Kitagawa Marin on this list might be unfair to the other characters as she’s a cosplayer. Her cosplaying skills translate well when it comes to curating looks. She would be the best choice when it comes to putting on the perfect make-up depending on the clothes or the hair depending upon the look you’re aiming for. Although a bit limited, even in her uniform she looks stylish with her multiple piercings, bracelets, and rings.

9. Misa Amane – Death Note

Nobody represents goth girlies stylistically the way Misa does. Dressed up in dramatic black or bold red paired up with thigh-high boots, Misa Misa always carries herself extremely well. She also uses accessories minimally and fittingly. Sometimes she’d dress up in pinks and bright colors, carrying them equally well. She seems well-versed with her style and uses it to look her best.

8. Faye Valentine – Cowboy Bebop

Faye is gorgeous and she knows it. Her classic yellow outfit with the red jacket and her hair pushed back looks great on her. Sometimes she’d put on sunglasses as well. The revealing nature of her outfit is explained and it adds to her character as well. Also whenever she puts on dresses occasionally, she carries them gracefully with a beautiful clutch and gloves. It’s a shame that we didn’t get to see her change into more outfits as we know that she has a knack for fashion.

7. Osamu Dazai – Bungou Stray Dogs

Osamu Dazai is the definition of layering done right. He wears a black vest over a shirt along with a trench coat. The shoes and surprisingly the bandages are a huge part of his fashion statement. His wavy hair completes the look. He might be one of those people who are effortlessly fashionable. His outfits are practical and can be worn in real life which is also the case with most Bungou Stray Dogs characters.

6. Soul King Brook – One Piece

Brook’s transformation to Soul King led to an evolved styling sense as well. Even his base outfit before time-skip was nothing short of impressive but his looks from One Piece Strong World, One Piece Z, and One Piece Gold are hard to surpass. He accentuates his clothing by accessorizing it with sunglasses (extra points for heart-shaped ones), hats, and boas. Even his sword is a stylistic addition to an otherwise great appearance.

5. Miwako Sakurada – Paradise Kiss

George is a tough competition here, but the effort Miwako puts into her looks is an absolute winning factor. The accessories, hair, footwear, and cute dresses, she puts so much care into everything and always looks dolled up. Whether her hair is tied up, left open, or covered with a hat, they usually go well with the outfit, sometimes accounting for a substantial shift in her appearance.

4. Buddha – Record of Ragnarok

Record of Ragnarok characters are extra in terms of their visual appearance. There are many characters like Hades, Qin Shi Huang, and Poseidon who are spectacular, Buddha is more simple yet extremely stylish. His outfit includes a tank top and a white bottom, wrapped with orange robes and a belt. The design becomes more fashionable with the earrings, the bindi on his head, the sunglasses, and the hairstyle. The complete look is further amplified by the way he carries it.

3. Kishibe Rohan – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures

JoJo characters are the peak of fashion. They go out and about without any restraints. While the later seasons are fashion-heavy with characters like Jolyne and Dio, despite being a side character, Kishibe Rohan is an absolute gem who stands out for his appearance. His outfits are a major part of his visual appeal but the valuable additions of the belt, earrings, and headband seal the deal for being the most fashionable character.

2. Ichigo Kurosaki – Bleach

Tite Kubo uses the cover pages of Bleach as his personal ramp walk. He designs great outfits for the characters and displays them on the colorful cover pages. The characters are dressed up in formal and casual, with great layering choices. Besides Ichigo, Renji stands out as well. But Ichigo has been drawn wearing 90’s style, cut sleeves, suit, and a lot of casual drips.

The creator also uses accessories like beanies, bead necklaces, pendants, and earrings, making Ichigo one of the most fashionable anime characters. Not just the cover pages but the Shihakusho are fresh and look different on characters despite the creative limits that come with uniforms.

1. Osaki Nana and Komatsu Nana – Nana

Ai Yazawa has a phenomenal fashion sense and Nana is the best demonstration of it. The two main characters Osaki Nana and Komatsu Nana follow very different aesthetics when it comes to fashion. While Osaki Nana is a goth girl with chokers, bracelets, and dramatic outfits which are usually black; Komatsu Nana follows the soft girl aesthetic. She wears bright and colorful outfits with scarves and bead necklaces.

Osaki Nana deserves to be the most fashionable character in Nana, but Hachi often goes under the radar despite making beautiful stylistic choices.

Conclusion

With that, we have the top 10 most fashionable anime characters. Their outfits are not impressive from a visual perspective solely but complement the personalities of the characters as well, sometimes taking it a step further by adding to it.
