The story is about a mage who fails to understand the fragility of human life. However, faced with the utter despair of losing her closest friend, she wonders if she could have done more when he was alive. Frieren decides to not take human life for granted and to understand the gravity of their interactions and the emotions they hold within.
She sets out on a journey, doing what made her friend happy, collecting random spells in exchange for helping out people. She visits another one of a friend, who in his final moments, entrusts her with the kid he raised for so long. As she continues on her journey, retracing the journey she made with her friends long ago, she reminisces past times and the changes the years have brought.
Frieren Beyond Journey’s End is a classic tale of human understanding and perseverance. It is a tale that has been told through the eyes of a long-lived being, someone who is so distant from the concept of limited time. It has been wonderfully executed and is a must-watch for anyone who wishes for a deep and intellectual show that is easy-going for the mind.

Frieren will be releasing their last episode, Episode 16, of Part 1 this week. After which, they will come back on the 5th of January, 2024. The anime has 28 episodes, leaving 12 more episodes for Cour 2. The second half would explore the adventures of Frieren’s new party with Fern, Stark, and Sein as they travel to Heaven to reunite with their lost friends.
