Liar Liar: What will happen to Saraasa if her lie gets out?

Liar Liar anime follows Hiroto Shinohara, a transfer student who unexpectedly beats the strongest empress, Sarasa Saionji, in a game and becomes the pseudo-strongest in the school. However, Hiroto is actually a pathological liar, and he uses his ability to bluff and deceive his way to victory.

As he continues to win games, he attracts the attention of Sarasa, who is determined to expose him as a fraud. But Hiroto is not the only one harboring secrets.

What lie is Saraasa trying to hide in Liar Liar?

Sarasa tells two main lies:

• She lies about her identity: Sarasa’s real name is Rina Akabane, but she pretends to be Sarasa Saionji, the granddaughter of the headmaster of Academy Island. She does this because she wants to protect her real identity from those who would harm her.

• She lies about her past: Sarasa tells Hiroto that she was kidnapped and forced to compete in games when she was younger. However, this is not true. She actually volunteered to compete in the games in order to protect her family.

Thanks to the Red Star he was given in his accidental win against Sarasa Saionji, Hiroto is given the ability to uphold one lie and must expose the truth to the next holder. Hiroto is forced to commit to his lie, and Sarasa herself confronts him as the previous holder, to reveal to him that she’s actually Sarasa’s double, Akabane Rina.

What will happen to Saraasa if her lie gets out?

These lies are important because they reveal Saraasa’s motivations and her fears. She is afraid of being hurt, so she hides her true identity and pretends to be someone she is not. She is also afraid of being exposed, so she keeps her past a secret. If Sarasa’s lie gets out, she will likely face a number of consequences-

• Social ostracism: Sarasa’s friends and family may shun her if they find out that she lied about her identity. This could make it difficult for her to maintain her relationships and could lead to her being isolated from everyone.
• Legal consequences: In some cases, lying can be considered a crime, especially one related to identity theft. If Sarasa’s lie is discovered, she could be arrested and charged with a crime. This could lead to fines, jail time, or both.

Saraasa’s or rather Rina’s lie has made the fans more curious about her character. They are intrigued by the mystery surrounding the real Sarasa. Who kidnapped her? and why?

Furthermore, Rina’s loyalty to Sarasa is impressive as she willingly puts her own life in danger to protect her friend, and her fabrication about Sarasa’s abduction is both astonishing and captivating. So far, Hiroto has kept her secret safe but we don’t know how that will turn out as the anime progresses and the plots thicken.
