Why is Burn The Witch 0.8 important?

Burn The Witch 0.8

Tite Kubo is popularly known for the anime Bleach, however, he has another hidden gem that has received an anime adaptation. Burn The Witch is a one-shot by Kubo that shares the same universe as its sister franchise. It received a 4-page manga which was later adapted into an anime. The anime will receive a prequel to its present 3 Episode show and is named Burn The Witch 0.8. This will act as a prequel and is very important in the series. Today we’ll delve specifically into why it is important to animate this one-shot.

Burn The Witch

There’s a world beyond what normal citizens can see through their naked eyes. Filled with supernatural apparitions, the world beyond London is known as the Reverse London. To protect the citizens and the line that keeps Front London and Reverse London separate, Wing Bind has Ninny and Noel working as Witches. However, things go out of hand when previous acquaintances pop into their world in hands with Dragons. Will Wing Bind carry on their tradition of preventing dragon attacks or will this time be different?

Why is 0.8 important?

0.8 is the prequel of the franchise and is the One-shot manga that gave birth to the series. It was very weird that the series was adapted but not with the original one-shot, but instead with the sequel to the main thing. It is as weird as how it would be if we started watching One Piece after the time skip and then watched the Pre-time skip part of the series. A lot of things wouldn’t make sense.

That is exactly what happens with this franchise. Many of the interactions did not evoke the same emotions for the anime onlys as it did for those who read the original one-shot. A lot of content did not make sense to the audience, as much of the context was left in one-shot. This led many to not understand the story and appreciate how well it had been written.

  • The story will properly introduce us to Noel and Ninny, as well as the Chief and Virgo. These characters play an important role in the story and it’s a must that we viewers know them properly.
  • The story will also explain to us why the world needs to be protected from the Dragons.
  • The story also delves into their motivation for the job.

Overall, 0.8 is the most important piece of the puzzle that was left behind. The central piece that creates the entire picture. As such it is very important that we receive its adaptation. The success of this prequel would also nudge Kubo to consider continuing it again.

Watching a story from the middle can be as confusing as it gets, and that is exactly what happened with Burn The Witch. Finally receiving a prequel will align the story in its place.
