Sukuna gets RCT back? JJK 255 leaks brings back the King of Curses to his prime

Sukuna's battle against Jogo in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

The JJK 255 leaks have finally been dropped and it has more surprises that one could imagine – and to lead with an argument we could assume that Sukuna gets RCT back. While this is a fairly terrifying notion, theories such as these are extensively covered in our biweekly newsletter at Spiel Anime.

To begin with, we have characters pouring in and taking over the narrative as Sukuna is pressured and pushed into the corner. Secondly, various revelations like Miguel’s Cursed Technique have also been made. Furthermore, the highlight of the chapter resides in its cliff-hanger as Sukuna was able to land a Black Flash on a sorcerer named Larue, and which might trigger an activation of his RCT.

JJK 255 leaks also suggest that the chapter is meant to put Sukuna in the face of adversity. Although he has not taken any battle seriously, a collective effort from the band of sorcerers insofar that they can might prove to be arduous and tricky for Sukuna. Miguel and Larue have also managed to land some heavy blows on the King of Curses. With the incoming of Yuji, Yuta, Choso and Maki into the battlefield, a shimmer of hope broke into the darkness.

Sukuna gets RCT back in JJK 255 leaks – an assumption or a reality?

The fact that Ryomen Sukuna gets RCT back in JJK 255 leaks is part of a cliff-hanger that left fans wondering about the upcoming course of action during the ongoing Miguel vs Sukuna battle. The theory arises out of Sukuna’s use of Black Flash a second time, and this time on the supporting character of Larue. The final section of the chapter suggests that Gojo Satoru once reactivated his RCT using Black Flash twice.

  • Furthermore, the editor’s comment at the end goes – “THE BLACK LIGHT SHINES SINISTERLY”. This could be a metaphor used to indicate that Sukuna is the black light, the dark force that has once again managed to outperform his opponents and shine in crisis.
  • Another interpretation could suggest that the black light refers to the Black Flash, something that would release Sukuna from his clutches and restrictions.

To add to the suspense further, the chapter has incapacitated Sukuna’s arms when Maki sliced them during her surprise attack in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255. Now Sukuna is incapable of performing the World Cutting Slash, as he needs his hands to perform the sign ‘Enmaten’ as well as incantation, along with leading the direction of the slash with his hands.

With all of these options gone and his heart not yet fully healed, Sukuna will either perish in this battle or come back with RCT in JJK 256 which would almost nullify the chances of the Jujutsu Sorcerers winning this battle.

Yuji and the others have to face Sukuna with his RCT back

Yuji, Yuta, Maki, Choso, Miguel, Larue – the final six standing against the strongest sorcerer in history. This is a battle that has somehow managed to entertain balance after a great hour. For the longest time, the battle was always in favor of Sukuna – first against Gojo when he had Mahoraga and then against everyone else when they didn’t have Gojo.

Now that they are six against one, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 leaks managed to make it all the more unpredictable when the possibility of Sukuna’s RCT returning was established. Not only will it compromise the entire battle, but it will also ensure that Sukuna easily emerges as the victor of this war.

Should Sukuna be allowed to regain his RCT – an ethical question

The fact that there is possibility that Sukuna gets RCT back according to Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 leaks is suggestive of the fact that Gege is already leaning towards Sukuna. In all fairness, it is going to be a joke being made out of Yuji and the others as they helplessly perish one after the other once Sukuna regains his RCT and is able to heal himself completely.

  • While Jujutsu Kaisen manages to offer a comprehensive worldbuilding, certain characters like Sukuna and Gojo were always introduced as the strongest.
  • While Gojo did have an arc where we were shown his past, Sukuna has always remained the mythical figure from legend who once roamed the earth to spread terror and death.
  • In such a situation, the manga author has failed to completely develop characters like Yuji till this point. He is still undergoing some major changes and everytime he jumps into the battlefield, we are introduced with something new.

This is not how character development is supposed to be done, and clearly not how one should channelize all the power and authority to just one character in particular, and leave out the rest who ought to be developed in order to protect the narrative. All in all, the chapter might suggest that Sukuna gets RCT back in the upcoming chapters but that will lead into closing down all avenues for Yuji and the others to claim any manner of victory.
