  • Levi is set up as a symbol of hope for humanity, the Scouts especially, and we learn Levi carries their shared vision of a world without titans, and takes up the resolve of the lives lost to the cause He vows their sacrifices had meaning because they’ll do more through him.

  • Going into the final battle, the physical & emotional toll he faces is beyond anything before. He loses his last original comrade from the start and is set to fight a seemingly impossible battle against his former squad member, missing an eye & fingers, critically injured days ago.
  • And when things are at their darkest and Levi can’t even walk anymore and has been coughing up blood, he is still the one saying to Mikasa that they need to pull it together because “they’re the only ones left who can kill Eren“.
  • It’s still his duty, he never stopped fighting. And in the aftermath, he credits his comrades who gave their hearts.
